The Higgs boson is a particle that experts in Physics expected to find since about the 1960's. In July 2012 scientists at CERN said they had found something like the Higgs Boson. The Higgs Boson or something very similar almost certainly exists. Higgs Boson gives matter its mass which is why it takes energy to get anything to start moving.
