Angular velocity (symbol ω) is the rate of change of an angular displacement. The SI unit is radians per second (rad/s). Angular velocity is a pseudovector, with the direction being perpendicular to the plane of rotation as dictated by the right-hand rule. It is equal to the angular momentum (L) divided by the moment of inertia (I) of an object.
